Episode 6
Posted By: Shoju on May 20, 2002 4:41 P.M. (PST)

This episode is centered around Kisaragi. ^_^  We find out that when Kisaragi was little, she had a childhood friend, Kanna.  Kisaragi and Kanna were going to take over the world, but then Kisaragi met Chitose.  At that point, Kisaragi wanted to do something that didn't need a reason to do.  According to her, "There is no reason needed to love another person.  That's what it means to be a mother." So, Kisaragi became a mother to Chitose and gave up world domination.

Shoju's Rating: 9/10 - An episode centered around one of my two favorite characters from Happy Lesson...of course it's biased. :P

Episode 7

This episode was centered around Mina.  The school is having a competition with the school being divided into the 'White' and 'Red' teams.  Mutsuki and Uzuki are on the White team with Chitose.  Satsuki, Kisaragi, and Mina are on the Red team.  Fumitsuki signs Chitose up for every event.  Mina decides that she wants to make Chitose MVP of the competition.  Satsuki and Kisaragi find out and decide to help.  Musuki and Uzuki also end up trying to help, but all of them screw something up and makes Chitose lose each event.  Chitose tells Mina that she should just try her best, and she does in a relay race.  However, she barely loses the race.  Chitose says she did good, and she is happy.

Shoju's Rating: 9/10 - It was very nice to see Kisaragi and Satsuki working together. :)  Good comedy and small doses of ecchi makes this episode nice.  Yazakura making a small cameo is the only thing I find unpleasant.  They should center an episode around Yazakura. :P

Episode 8
Posted By: Shoju on May 30, 2002 11:30 P.M. (PST)

Uzuki is at the center of this episode.  She meets a young boy named Kenta.  He thinks she is an angel because of her wings.  He wants to have at least one of her wings, but she won't give one to him.  She decides that she will play with him instead, and she plays with him everyday.  One day, it rains and when she goes to meet him, he says he won't be able to play any more.  He then disappears and Chitose and Uzuki find out that he had a disease and died already.

Shoju's Rating: 2/10 - Never liked this mom.  Only thing I found somewhat pleasant was at the end of the episode.  Uzuki hugs Chitose and says that for that day, she will be a crybaby.

Episode 9
Posted By: Shoju on June 8, 2002 10:20 P.M. (PST)

Episode is about the school's different clubs.  Mina and all the other middle school students are forced to join one of the school's clubs.  Chitose decides to do what Mina does.  They go to each of mom's clubs, but end up joining Fumitsuki's Literature Club.

Shoju's Rating: 5/10 - Not a very entertaining episode.

Episode 10

A Hazuki episode! ^_^  She has a concert at a famous music center.  It was her childhood dream to sing there, and she got to fulfill it.  After the concert she makes a decision to retire.  She tells everyone the next day at Chitose's house.  Chitose is the only one who thinks she is making a mistake.  Everyone else supports her decision and they all go out to shop.  The day after, Hazuki wakes up and sees that everyone has left for school.  She reads all her fashion magazines and plays games for the next few days.  One day, she decides to go to school and she listens to the Mother's lectures in class.  She goes to a bridge and Chitose follows her.  Hazuki says she is just a burden, and she says she should go somewhere far away.  Chitose says that she shouldn't decide on things like that on her own.  She starts crying and hugs Chitose.  The mothers ask Mina to go check on Chitose and Hazuki.  Kisaragi says that it's easy to find them and holds up a tracking device.  Chitose and Hazuki are then seen watching kids from the bridge.  She then remembers that when they were little, Hazuki sang to Chitose and Mina to make them happy.  Mina comes running and tells them to come home.  Hazuki then says to herself that she has found 'her song.'  They go back and have dinner.

Shoju's Rating: 10/10 - Hazuki being the main focus in this episode makes this an outstanding episode.  It was cute when she started to cry. =D

Episode 11

Oh yea!  Another episode centered on Kisaragi!  She has a huge machine in the living room.  She is going to do an experiment on herself.  Everyone watches as she starts the experiment.  The machine is hit by lightning and Kisaragi hits a button.  The room turns white and Kisaragi ends up on the floor.  She wakes up and she thinks the experiment failed.  The next day she is acting like Yayoi.  When school starts and the rush of 'sick' students begin, they find Kisaragi where Yayoi should be.  Yayoi is standing outside and asking herself if that is what she looks like when she's working.  The students say that is true, but they will always love Yayoi-sensei.  Then some students say that Kisaragi has perfectly imitated Yayoi's adult charm, and suddenly everyone wants to see her.  Fumitsuki shows up and punches everyone out of the way.  Yayoi tells Kisaragi that she should go to her class and she does.  Kanna shows up and tries to take Chitose by netting him.  Kisaragi cuts the net and Kanna falls on a tree branch.  At home, everyone realizes that the experiment is the cause of Kisaragi's 'weird' actions.  Because it is caused by an experiment, everyone but Chitose relaxes.  The next day, she acts like Satsuki and wakes up Chitose with Satsuki's 'bosom death hold.'  Kisaragi is making everyone run when Kanna shows up and ropes Chitose.  She asks him if they should go for a walk, but Kisaragi shows up and spins her away like a helicopter.  The next day she acts like Uzuki.  Then the next day finally, she acts like Musuki.  Kisaragi catches Chitose cutting class and persuades him to go back to class.  While going back, he finds Kanna on the floor.  They go outside and Chitose tells Kanna all about Kisaragi's experiment.  Kisaragi then finds them and punishes them with lots of work.  That night, Kisaragi comes into the living room after a bath and finds that Chitose is not sleeping.  She finds him on the roof and puts a blanket on him.  Chitose then ask why she did this experiment.  She says that this is a personality simulation.  She wants to be the perfect mother by feeling what the other mothers can do.  She says that she is the only mother who doesn't do anything.  She says that becoming the perfect mother is her goal.  Chitose says that he doesn't need a perfect mother.  He also says that there is no point if there is no Kisaragi-mama, and he says that she should turn back to normal.  Kisaragi then uses the machine to turn back to normal, but everyone else switches bodies.

Shoju's Rating: 10/10 - Kisaragi acting like Satsuki is more than enough to make this episode outstanding.  Kisaragi wanting to be a perfect mother to Chitose was also sweet.

Episode 12
Posted By: Shoju on July  9 2002 9:00 P.M. (PST)

There is a festival at Chitose's school.  Chitose is looking around when a firework missile, shot by Kisaragi, ends up hitting him.  Fumitsuki comes dragging Chitose back to work.  Kanna shows up in a blonde wig and schoolgirl uniform.  Satsuki and Uzuki go tell Mutsuki about Uzuki's Cosplay show.  Satsuki and Uzuki get in a fight about Satsuki's event.  Back at the horror house, Fumitsuki changes into her costume and Chitose changes into a werewolf costume.  Fumitsuki starts thinking that with all the confusion going on, it would be a good time to confess her love to Chitose.  She tries asking him if there is any girl he likes, but guy 'B' and 'C' show up instead.  Fumitsuki goes off looking for Chitose again.  Chitose arrives just in time to see Uzuki's Cosplay show.  Hazuki shows up also.
Chitose is then called to metallic Buddah.  It is really a trap so Kisaragi can use him in her show.  She transforms him into a frog and back to his regular self quickly.  Kanna shows up and snatches him.  She is dragging him through the hallway when Mina shows up.  Kanna gets really happy when Chitose tells her to let him go becasue he says her name without a suffix.  Kanna and Mina then greet each other.  Kisaragi comes and Kanna quickly escapes.  Kanna comes to Satsuki's Synchronized Swimming show.  Kanna tries running, but she slips into the pool.  However, she is wearing special bug-feet shoes that allow her to walk on the water.  Kisaragi comes and frees Chitose from the net.  Satsuki grabs Kanna, but she slips through and leaves through a window.  Fumitsuki then sees a game that she thinks is perfect to find out Chitose's feelings about her.  Kanna sees it also, and she also decides to join the game.  Chitose is then seen eating with Yayoi and Mutsuki.  Yayoi and Mutsuki then go off to that game while Chitose rest there.  Fumitsuki and Mina show up, however, and persuade him to join the game.  He is the only guy there.  All the teachers, Mina, Fumitsuki, and Kanna are the other contestants.  When it is time to choose his 'match' Kanna makes him push all the buttons.  Fumitsuki drags Chitose back to the horror house.  The teachers and Mina then decide to go check on Chitose.  While they talk to Chitose, Fumitsuki overhears them.  She hears that the teachers are living with Chitose.

Shoju's Rating: 8/10 - It's has a very nice cliffhanger ending.  I loved the segment where Chitose had to choose one of the contestants.

Episode 13
Posted By: Shoju on July 9 2002 9:00 P.M. (PST)

Fumitsuki is thinking about Chitose and the teacher's secret.  She has to find out before she confesses her love to Chitose.  Everyone then goes to watch Hazuki's concert.  After the concert, all the teachers are congratulating her and Fumitsuki spies on them.  Fumitsuki is bewildered as she thinks about Chitose's current situation.  The next day, Fumitsuki asks Mina if Chitose lives with anyone.  Mina says he lives alone, and Fumitsuki quickly ends the conversation.  She then says that the idea of teachers living with him is wrong.  Fumitsuki tries following him, but looses him when he goes on a bus.  Fumitsuki then sees Kanna and decides to follow her instead.  Kanna leads her right to his house.  Chitose is at Hazuki's apartment to pick up Mina, so no one is at his house.  Fumitsuki goes in, and right behind her, come the moms.  The moms see that the door is open and discuss who didn't lock it.  Fumitsuki panics and falls through one of Kisaragi's holes.  She lands behind a sofa and becomes unconscious.  When she wakes up, everyone is preparing for the party.  She overhears them talk, and she confirms that the teachers are living with Chitose.  The moms leave the room, and Fumitsuki is able to get outside.  She sees Chitose, Hazuki, and Mina walking and goes hide.  After they go in the house, she leaves.  Inside, Mina tells everyone what Fumitsuki asked her earlier.  While everyone is partying, Fumitsuki thinks about what to do.  While Chitose feeds the fish, he finds a toy, he gave to Fumitsuki, behind the sofa.  The next day, Fumitsuki brings him to a bench by a lake.  There, she tells him that she knows his secret.  He talks about it with the moms and they think they should move out.  The next day, Fumitsuki begins acting weird around the moms.  The moms then pack up their things and get ready to move out.  The next day, Chitose gives back the toy and they go talk.  Chitose begs Fumitsuki not to tell anyone.  She explains that everyone has secrets, and hers is that she likes him.  Chitose is suprised.  The teachers show up and spy on them.  Fumitsuki and Chitose share a 'moment' and then Kanna shows up.  She launches an electrical net at them and shocks them both.  The moms run down and check on them, and it seems that they have forgotten about what has happened.  Fumitsuki leaves saying Chitose should take her to a resturant.  The moms thank Kanna.  Kanna is confused and throws a few bombs and leaves.  Kisaragi says that she will forgive Kanna this time for wetting them all.  They all go home and unpack.  Mutsuki says that the 'Happy Lesson' won't end just yet.

Shoju's Rating: 8/10 - Fumitsuki wasn't going to tell about Chitose's secret.  I think they should have just kept their memories.  However, the ending was okay.  This anime is like many others in the sense that I want to see more. =)
