Episode 6

A 'getting more powerful' episode where Rumina's grandpa comes back and trains Rumina, Chelsea, and Ginnosuke.  They train for about a week.  Rumina learns the Asagiryu secret technique.  Chelsea learns how to fight without her Gravity powers.  Ginnosuke...runs.  In the end, they go grab a treasure Rumina's family have been protecting for generations, the Kogarasu Maru.

Shoju's Rating: 7/10 - Grandpa's perverted ways of training Chelsea were very entertaining for this pervert.  The Kogarasu Maru looks like a very nice sword.  Though this anime reminds me very much of Flame of Recca, it looks very promising.  If they show killing, it would totally kick ass.

Rumina, Chelsea, and Ginnosuke go to the 'Underground.' When they pass through a gate, the Company releases a genetically developed guard dog to kill them.  Chelsea manages to bury it under some rubble and arrive at a small village.  Some kids annoy Rumina, and he goes after them.  The guard dog, Cerebes, soon appears and endangers the kids.  Rumina uses his special technique with the new sword and cuts the dog in half.  It disappears and the kids blame Rumina for bringing the dog from the surface.

Shoju's Rating: 4/10 - Nothing special.  First use of the Asagiryu secret technique on a creature.  There's still a little hope he'll use this technique on a human. :)

Episode 8

A Company assassin, named Lon, gets two kids to hide Rumina's sword.  Rumina goes look for it, while Lon attacks Chelsea during the simulation of night.  Chelsea can only defend while Lon throws steal beams at her.  Ginnosuke goes to the electrical controls and turns the lights back on.  Chelsea sees that he is throwing the steel beams from above, so now she knows she doesn't need that much energy to deflect them.  The kids find that they made a bad mistake and go look for Rumina to give him back his sword.  They show Rumina a shortcut back and surprises Lon.  Rumina uses his techniques and blows Lon away.  Chelsea collapses and Ginnosuke gets lost.  Lon runs away and runs into Ginnosuke.  He wants to take out his frustration on him, but Ginnosuke is saved by some guy that uses fire.  Back at the Company HQ(I think), Ruri gets her bodyguard to eat with her.  She remembers the few times she eats with Rumina, Chelsea, and Ginnosuke and she begins to cry.

Shoju's Rating: 7/10 - Average episode.  The last scene with Ginnosuke looking at the fire dude makes me think they're going to 'like' each other...

Episode 9
Posted By: Shoju on June 5, 2002 11:40 P.M. (PST)

Ginnosuke meets the man who saved him, Sui.  He sees that Sui is using a very powerful gun and want to learn more about it.  Ginnosuke then follows Sui after he goes on his way.  Sui finds out that he wants to have the gun so he can help his friends.  Sui explains that it is called a spirit gun and shows him the power of it by shooting a waterfall.  The waterfall turns to ice and Ginnosuke asks if he can have the gun. Sui gives him a list of the parts needed instead and goes off looking for them.  Sui decides to help him search.  When all of it is collected, it is built and tested on a big waterfall.  When the spirit gun is shot, the waterfall completely freezes.  Ginnosuke goes back to the village where Chelsea and Rumina are resting.  Rumina had found only Ginnosuke's glasses by some rubble.  When he told Chelsea, she said that he can't be considered dead.  Rumina starts to get into an arguement with Chelsea when Ginnosuke walks in.  Neither recognize him at first.  Rumina says that when they first met, he had worn glasses so has never seen him with out glasses.  The three of them then go off to search for Ruri.

Shoju's rating: 6/10 - A small moment where Chelsea is more gentle towards Rumina is the only think that was nice in the entire episode.

Episode 10
Posted By: Shoju on June 8, 2002 10:20 P.M. (PST)

Rumina, Chelsea, and Ginnosuke are still trying to find the Company HQ.  They find themselves at the edge of the 'Under-globe.' Here, we are introduced to Sharuma Rufis, an 'ice' user.  She begins to attack Chelsea, but Ginnosuke whips out his Spirit Gun.  He shoots it, but all that comes out is confetti and a letter from Sui.  In the letter, Sui tells Ginnosuke that the gun is too powerful and must be reconfigured for Ginnosuke so he will keep the gun until then.  The water user Rumina fought at the school, also appears and after Rumina uses 'Violent Wind' twice, the floor beneath him crumbles and he falls.

Shoju's Rating: 7/10 - DAMN IT!  GINNOSUKE WAS REALLY GOING TO BLOW SHARUMA WITH THE GUN!  Ginnosuke is a killer after all...LOL.  This episode left on a nice cliff hanger.  TU 11 might actually get a 10/10 if the title of the next episode holds true to its words.

Episode 11
Posted By: Shoju on June 24, 2002 12:33 A.M. (PST)

Rumina tries to attack the water user from above, but he is able to hold back 'Violent Wind.'  Rumina then slowly hovers down using the wind.  Chelsea figures out why the surface, she and Shruma had been fighting on, was slippery.  Sharuma was sprinkling small pieces of ice around the floor.  Chelsea then creates a gravity ball to collect the ice and beats Sharuma.  Rumina is still fighting the water user guy.  He tries to attack Rumina with Suibakusatsu, but Rumina reads the water's wind and breaks the attack.  Rumina attacks with 'Violent Wind' and knocks the guy over the edge.  Rumina is able to save him, and the guy tells Rumina about his past.  The guy then makes Rumina let go of him and he falls.  He says that he'll be back, and Rumina goes to check on Chelsea.  Chelsea has re-injured her leg and Rumina is the only one who can carry her.  Chelsea then starts to fall asleep saying that she probably used too much energy.  She also says that Rumina's back reminds her of her childhood, and she starts to remember her past before she finally falls asleep.  Back at the Company, a guy named Kasshin arrives.  He tells the upper-executives that the domination of the aboveground is near.

Shoju's rating: 9/10 - Bah!  The title means nothing.  No one died.  Rumina turning red when he had to carry Chelsea makes up for it though.
