Bio: Born in Cosmo Canyon, Nanaki barely knew his mother
before she passed away. He lived 48 years thinking his father Seto was a
coward. He was cared for by Bugenhagen, an elder of Cosmo Canyon.
Nanaki was captured sometime later by Hojo and was experimented on for an
unknown amount of time. He received the 'XIII' at this time. He was
to mate with Aeris to produce offspring that would have Nanaki's lifespan and
the blood of the Cetra, but Cloud, Tifa, and Barret rescued them both before it
was to happen. Nanaki follows them on their journey until he reaches his
home, Cosmo Canyon.
It is at this time, Nanaki is brought down to the
deepest part of the canyon to see what is left of his courageous father, Seto.
Bugenhagen tells Nanaki that Seto defended Cosmo Canyon until the bitter end,
and he continues to guard it even now in his 'stoned' form. Bugenhagen
urges Nanaki to continue with Avalanche on their journey, and so he does.
